Case #1686 - Breast Reconstruction

This 45-year-old female was diagnosed with right breast DCIS. Bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies were performed with immediate placement of tissue expanders. Subsequently the tissue expanders were inflated to 660cc. At a secondary surgery, the tissue expanders were removed and replaced with 616cc silicone gel filled implants. She also underwent fat grafting of the upper poles to improve the fullness of her upper breast. She is shown at 2 months postop.

Case #1687 - Breast Reconstruction

This 51-year-old female was found to be at very high risk for breast cancer. Bilateral prophylactic nipple sparing mastectomies were performed with immediate placement of tissue expanders. After inflation of the expanders, 475cc high profile silicone gel implants were placed. Her 6-month postoperative photographs are shown.

Case #1688 - Breast Reconstruction

This 45-year-old female was found to have left breast cancer. She underwent bilateral mastectomy with tissue expander placement. After inflation of expanders to optimal volume, form stable (gummy bear) implants were placed with fat grafting of the upper breast. She subsequently had nipple reconstruction with an areola tattoo.

After inflation of tissue expanders to stretch the skin, form stable silicone gel (gummy bear) of the appropriate size were placed and the expanders were removed. Case #1690 - Breast Reconstruction

This 37-year-old female was diagnosed with invasive ductal breast cancer/DCIS involving her right breast. A tissue expander was placed at the time of mastectomy and inflated to 700cc during her postoperative chemotherapy. Five months later, a DIEP free flap from her abdomen was used to reconstruct the right breast. Her 4-month photographs are shown prior to nipple reconstruction.

This 70-year-old female was diagnosed with left breast cancer. Because of concern that she may require radiation therapy, a latissimus dorsi muscle flap was used in combination with a tissue expander. Once she was expanded to her full volume, a second procedure was performed to place a 400cc silicone gel-filled implant. She declined nipple/areolar reconstruction.

She underwent bilateral prophylactic mastopexy with reconstruction using pre-pectoral (in front of the muscle) implants (Style 410 595cc silicone gel) wrapped with Alloderm matrix. This 65-year-old female was diagnosed with right breast cancer and underwent bilateral mastectomy. Two-stage reconstruction was performed. At the time of mastectomy, tissue expanders were placed with Alloderm sling. After full expansion, she was switched to anatomic, form-stable (gummy bear) silicone gel implants (410MX 550cc). Fat grafting to the upper pole was also performed at the second stage. Her 3-month postoperative photographs are shown.
